Projects are being launched by executive managers every day, often investing a not insignificant amount of their organizations budgets into projects with little or no chance of success simply because their organizations are unprepared to deal with projects.

Project Management certifications such as Prince2, PMI etc. are hip for the time being, but is that really the reason for project success? Can a project manager really be made accountable for project failure or does the senior management carry a part of the responsibility?
